Now as most of you know since I finished my degree in Paramedical Esthetics in 2006 I have actively disliked Clinique and can't remember having a positive experience with the brand, even as a teenager. However, I recently met a smart girl who is super loyal to the brand and let me know that nearly every product in the range has been reformulated since my days in esthetician school. She spoke so passionately about it that I thought why not give it a try. As you can see I picked up a few items to test out (including the Primer which I forgot to pull out in time to make it in this photos). Since I'm still in the process of testing I won't go into much detail about each individual product but below, I've chosen the ones that stand out immediately so you can see if they would be good additions to your daily regimen. Stay tuned for a few review of all the products pictured next month! CC Cream
This is one fad that hasn't sucked me in mainly because I'm very oily and most of the BB & CC creams are a bit too moisturizing for my taste but I took this one camping last month to try it out and I was pretty impressed. This is where it seems to shine: the shade is a perfect match (I use Light/Medium), its SPF 30 so it's an added insurance to your sunblock and its a medium weight with rather amazing coverage. Now, the real question... Will it replace my ALL-TIME FAVORITE Jouer Matte Moisture Tint? Nope! But I have been using it instead when I go to the pool, beach, camping or floating the river this summer. It has a higher SPF than my Jouer & is much cheaper so its perfect for all your summer outings!
This product promises a list taller than the bottle is so my expectations are quite high however because it took 5 years to develop and the technology is cutting edge its worth a try. Where I find it fits into my skincare regimine is every other night when I'm not using my Retin-A. I like that is a thicker texture compared to other serums so I definitely feel hydrated and I take it right up to my eyes and all around since it doesn't cause sensitivity. For me it's seems to be more of a preventive then an instant corrected but at 35, I'm in! I'll keep using it!
Flower Blush: I'm not even going to lie to you... I did buy this product purely for the packaging :0 it looked like spring in a compact but its actually turned out to be one of my favorite summer blushes. It is definitely a powder but feels smooth like a cream. The only downside is I hate using it knowing I'm destroying the perfectly pressed flower petals.
Chubby Stick in Budding Blossom Now you know how your guy loves how luscious your lips look with your favorite gloss on but the minute you kiss he's totally turned off by the 'goop'? Tragic I know but don't fear because Clinique has solved our issue! The new self adjusting Chubby Stick is less tacky then even a Chapstick and gives you the perfect wash of pink. What adds to the cute factor is that my guy swears that when I blush it turns to a deeper pink like a mood ring which really tickles him... If that's true I can't confirm but I'll keep using it when we're together ;)
Now my favorite stand out product of them all... Drum roll please... Ever Matte Oil Free Moisturizer!!! It is super light, mattifying yet moisturizing and works perfectly under my makeup! Done! It's the only moisturizer I've found that I've 'wanted' to put on everyday. Being an oily girl living in the hot humid climate of Houston if its going on my face, it has to be light! I like it so much I've already bought a backup for when this one runs out!
There aren't many items left to try although since I'm a huge fan of the Chubby Sticks for lips I would like to pick up a few shades from the eye range. Those might be included in next months full review if I decide to bring them home.
If you have any questions or want a review on any of the other products photographed, let me know in the comment section and I'd be happy to tell you what I think of the product you're interested in!
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week with a new post.
