(Hand Raised) Yes, I'm guilty. The entire time I shopped for Christmas presents I did take part in the One for you, Two for me tradition. I'm pretty excited about several of my purchases and am glad I waiting 30-40 days of using them before I posted a review for you.
I will add to this post as I try things but I wanted to get a mini review in your hot little hands in case you had some gift cards burning a whole in your pocket!
The skincare bits I picked up were mostly new meaning first time trying the products except the Phyto Hair Supplements which I take 4 times per year. The Caudalie Grape Water feels nice but I prefer another brand so I added this to my bridal kit as a start off spray before skincare. Boscia is a new brand to me but every time I'm in a Sephora I am amazed at how many cleansers they offer (this one in the photo is one of three I've purchased recently) and I do like it. I keep it in the shower so I can't vouch for how well it takes off makeup since my skin is usually already clean when I get it but it does see to clean well without stripping so that is a plus. Origins Ginzing Moisturizer and Eye Cream was a 50/50 for me. I love the eye cream and wanted to love the moisturizer too since so many of my favorite YouTubers rave about it and because of that, I am not giving up. I broke out so badly while trying it out (could have been the product or the stress of Christmas) that I had to go back on a Rx for acne :/ so I will wait a month and try it again. That being said, I haven't used the Night-a-Mins all that much since that happened and plan to give it another try too. Now the stand out product in this haul for me is the GlamGlow Clearing Mask! All hail! I'm notorious for buying masks and not using them so I had hoped for the $70 price tag this would change and I have to say, this is the mask to rule all other masks. Unlike the original which was far to... uh... seaweedy for me, this one is just perfect. It does what it says, cleans your pores, makes everything nice and tight and can heal a breakout by morning! Hallelujah! And that leaves the Philosophy Hope in a Jar which after all my skincare disasters in December I didn't even open this one and will plan to give it away.
Two coveted sets of Real Techniques brushes... drum roll please... I just think the quality of these brushes + the price is incredible. I do tend to use these with more cream or liquid products because for me, they don't seem to pick up powders all that well. Here's how I use these from Left to Right:
Translucent Powder - Under Eye Clean Up - Cream Crease Blending Brush - Cream Bronzer - Foundation - Concealer - Cream Shadows - Gel Liner
The benefit to these is how quick and easy they wash up! For a professional MUA they are a must have for your kit. I have two full sets, one for me and one for my kit.
Color wise I wouldn't recommend the Almay lip Balm because the pink is unnatural and the product reminds me of the Maybelline Baby Lips but at twice the price. That was my only disappointing product of the makeup. The Naked On The Run palette is a perfect one to keep at the BF's house since its a little to bulky for actual travel but just compact enough to stay out of his way in the bathroom. It has everything you need for complete your look, bronzer, blush, highlight, 5 shadows, a liner, lip gloss and mini mascara. Ooooh oooh ooh not to mention the huge glorious mirror which makes doing your makeup just about anywhere easier. See below for the close-up of the inside. Also here are two double ended Urban Decay Liners. When I first saw them I couldn't justify a need but as my job's travel became more demanding, I ended up getting them and hate to admit it but they are function meets beauty with staying power! Lastly is the Josie Maran Black Oil Mascara which honestly I have not heard one person love it, to the contrary most MUAs don't like it at all. Although it is not my absolute favorite mascara, it is definitly worth a try because it is the blackest of black, cleans off easily and is packed with good things for you lashes. Give it a try!
This is the first year I didn't get any makeup for Christmas so I'm curious to see what you got! Tag me on IG @BobbyPinsandBlush so I can see your holiday treasures.
